Burning Japan thrives through community contributions of labor, artwork, theme camps, and volunteering, as participants offer their unique gifts, fostering creativity and enhancing the overall experience.

Selflessness Gifting, a central principle, focuses on giving without expecting an immediate return, allowing beauty and happiness to be found in the act of gifting itself.

This culture of generosity and interconnectedness is created through gifting, enabling everyone to both give and receive.

Gifts can come in various forms, whether material or not: theme camps, volunteering, objects, assistance to others, services...

You are not limited to a single gift; instead, you are encouraged to participate in multiple acts of gifting.

Below is a list of examples, but the possibilities are endless. Anything you do or share with others or the community, whether material or not, is a cherished Gift.

🎨Visual Arts

Please check the Visual Arts section in Theme Camp.

⛺Theme Camps

Please check the Theme Camp page.

🏕️Mini Camps

Mini-Camps are compact, ranging from a basic picnic sheet to a single table and two chairs, requiring minimal space.

The Organization will provide adequate space and visibility for Mini-Camps.

You don't need to register your mini camps; you simply need to install your camp in designated areas. It is still easier for organization, if you contact them to explain your project.

Mini camps can be temporary.

Compare to Theme Camp, Mini camps are restricted, your camp is allowed to:

  • Have a maximum sound volume of 50W (using a Bluetooth speaker or acoustic instruments).
  • You cannot use open fire or gasoline generators, except for gas stoves.
  • Structures should not exceed a height of 3m.
  • The maximum footprint allowed is 3x3m.

Mini-camps, like theme camps, can vary widely. They mostly focus on 1 or 2 activities.
